MDF and HDMR

When it comes to furniture and interior design, MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) and HDMR (High-Density Moisture-Resistant) boards are two popular engineered wood options. Both offer versatility and affordability, but they serve distinct purposes. Let’s dive into their features and applications.

What is MDF?

Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by compressing wood fibers with resin and wax under high pressure.

What is HDMR?

High-Density Moisture-Resistant (HDMR) is a premium version of MDF, designed for durability and moisture resistance. It is created using denser wood fibers and additional resins.

Features of HDMR:

  • Moisture Resistant: Performs well in humid and wet environments, unlike standard MDF.
  • Durable: Higher density makes it more robust and long-lasting.
  • Smooth Finish: Similar to MDF, it is easy to laminate or paint.
  • Strength: Offers greater load-bearing capacity.
